Dirty text and invisible artifacts

How PROVEN finds invisible characters, unusual spacing, and other unwanted traces that can remain in catalog content.

On this page

Catalog content can accumulate unwanted traces through copying and pasting, rich-text editors, imports, or migrations. Some are hard to see but remain in the stored data and can affect how text is displayed or processed.

Examples of problems

Depending on the field and context, PROVEN can find:

  • invisible or control characters;
  • unusual spacing sequences;
  • empty HTML or markup with no useful content;
  • redundant HTML elements;
  • HTML attributes or structures that deserve review.

The problem before the fix

PROVEN shows what it found and where before proposing a change. An automatic fix exists only for cases where the rule can be applied safely.

Not every difference is an error

PROVEN does not change text just to make it “more uniform”. Every fix must start from an observable cause and a clear rule.
