Publishing and verification

What PROVEN checks before and after a Shopify change and why an accepted request is not enough to declare success.

Updated 21 Sept 2026
On this page

Publication is separate from proposal and approval. Approving a value does not mean PROVEN applies it automatically in Shopify.

Before publication

PROVEN checks the relevant product, field, or image data again. If it changed in the meantime, publication stops rather than overwriting a newer change.

Applying the change

Only approved changes that are available for publication can reach Shopify. PROVEN respects both Shopify permissions and the access rights of the user requesting the action.

Verifying the result

After publication, for changes it can confirm, PROVEN reads the result back from Shopify and checks that the observed state matches the approved value.

If the result cannot be confirmed, the interface does not present it as verified success.

Retries

When retrying, PROVEN first checks the current Shopify state to avoid applying the same change twice. If the result cannot be confirmed, the process stops instead of assuming the change should be repeated.

Continue the process

For change history, the verified result, and available restores, continue with Audit and traceability.
