Getting started with PROVEN

A quick introduction to what PROVEN checks, how it explains problems it finds, and how changes stay under your control.

PROVEN helps you find observable problems in a Shopify catalog, understand why they matter, and decide what is worth fixing. The central principle is simple: PROVEN does not invent catalog information.

What PROVEN does

PROVEN keeps the important steps separate so you can see what is happening before a change reaches Shopify:

  1. checks the data it can actually see;
  2. flags explainable problems and shows the relevant evidence;
  3. lets you review the result before any change;
  4. prepares a fix only where a safe method exists;
  5. keeps approval and publication as separate steps;
  6. verifies the result after publication for changes it can confirm.

What PROVEN does not assume

A field PROVEN cannot see is not automatically “missing”. Ambiguous text does not automatically receive a correction. When the evidence is not sufficient, PROVEN leaves the case for review.

A case left for review is better than a change made on a guess.

Two ways to start

Try PROVEN checks only public store information, with no Shopify Admin access and no changes. The installed app can use the Shopify data and permissions granted by the merchant for available checks and changes.
