French language checks

How PROVEN handles potentially missing French diacritics, ambiguity, and the boundaries of language-specific checks.

French diacritics can change the form or meaning of a word, and the same unaccented sequence can have multiple valid interpretations. PROVEN therefore does not treat this check as simple search and replace. The check flags cases for review; it does not automatically correct French text.

What the check looks for

The check looks for forms where missing French diacritics are plausible in the available context. An occurrence is evaluated with the information available in the field, not character by character alone.

Ambiguity

If several variants are plausible or the context is insufficient, PROVEN does not choose a correction automatically. The case remains for review.

Try PROVEN

The public preview works only with data it can observe. If the relevant language cannot be established from public context, language-specific checks can remain unevaluated.

Installed app

In the installed app, the store’s primary presentation language can be configured explicitly. This allows language-specific checks to run only where they are relevant to the storefront.
